Description

Whew! Finally, I was able to get some R&R from work.

I headed south of the Metro and found this beautiful resort called Laiya Resthouse.

Here's one night scene I couldn't resist taking -- majestic clouds reaching up to a bright moon that is lighting up the starry sky, sands of gold, and a small boat slowly heading out to the tranquil sea.

And yes, I had a cold beer in hand.

Thanks for viewing!

Edit: Added a link to a slightly bigger version (576 x 768 px).

Very surreal, a nice change from the standard cloud shot. I wish it were a lil larger. But the overall composition is very good. Good job

Bigger version plz! This is beautiful. The way the clouds are ascending makes this picture for me. It's like it's reaching to the light but is not even close. Excellent job.

Looks like it might be nice, but I'll save my vote until a larger version is posted.

I apologize if I wasn't able to include a link to the larger image when I published this one. Anyway, here's the link to the slightly larger (576 x 768) version --

This is so beautiful! The starts and the cloud, really great. I'm waiting for a bigger version. Can you tell me what gear did you use?

Overall an excellent shot--well composed and unique. It's a bit dark for my taste; more specifically the highlights and midtones are too dark, particularly in the clouds. In challenging lighting situations such as this one, exposure bracketing comes in very handy.

Again, very nice work nonetheless.

Thank you so much Mihai! I'm currently using a Canon PowerShot S2 IS.

Great tip! I'll keep that exposure bracketing in mind, Steven! Thanks for the constructive Cs. :)

Majestic cloud image - and a very dramatic landscape.
The colours make it look very painterly...

Brilliant. Very nice landscape with all the right elements. It is dark but I think that works well. Great execution!!
Peace,

Kris, thank you so much for your wonderful comments! They're deeply appreciated! :) BTW, I tried printing out an 8R pic outta this one, and it did come out dark I guess it was meant to be shown but never printed LOL!
